Ayano Ohmi is Japanese artist and designer currently based ain Kyoto, Japan. Inspired by both Western and Eastern traditions, Ohmi immerses herself in the spirit, culture and environment/clay of the many countries she visits for inspiration. Her recent work includes translucent stoneware light sculpture, slender tall ceramic totems, wall mounted sculptures and tabletop objects. Ohmi's ceramics reflect a variety of textures possible with clay and whose shapes are often poetic abstractions of natural landscapes and modern architecture.
